In order to improve knowledge of my French, I’ve recently started to read «80 Men to Change the World» – a precious book on sustainable development entrepreneurs and their ways of, if I may, alternative business.
One of the stories that attracted my attention the most was regarding organic rice production in Japan. It doesn’t sound hilarious, does it? Not at all before you read the fact that the man who developed this system used D-U-C-K-S instead of chemicals! Namely, not only that ducks eat parasites while as they leave rice untouched, but also they mix water at the bottom, oxidize it and fertilize soils. And the yields per hectare are doubled! In addition, bear in mind that the bio products are sold for 20-30% higher price…
Environment and human health friendly way of obtaining outstanding profit I’d say.
